Barrie, Ontario - August 14, 2016. The Barrie Police are investigating a break and enter that occurred at the Ontario SPCA Barrie Animal Centre, located at 91 Patterson Road, in the City of Barrie.

On Sunday, August, 14, 2016, Police received a report of a break and enter that had occurred sometime late Saturday night into the early morning hours of  Sunday. The suspect(s) had gained entry into the building through a window.

Once inside, the suspect(s) entered the adoption room and removed three (3) dogs and exited through the same window they had used to gain entry.  

Sunday afternoon staff members of the OSPCA reported to police that a woman dropped off one of the three dogs that had been stolen. The dog was left in the front lobby and the woman left without speaking to anyone, and was seen leaving the parking lot in a white Honda SUV.

Police are looking to speak with this woman to assist with the investigation.

The missing dogs are described as;

Jack Russell Terrier Mix - Rosco (6yrs.Old)

  • Male, neutered
  • White and black in colour
  • Approx. 10.2 kg

Shepherd Mix - Nala (2yrs. Old)

  • Female, spayed
  • Black in colour
  • Approx. 20.2 kg

Identification officers examined the scene and the investigation is continuing.
