Ontario SPCA Welcomes Dr. Yuill new Chief Veterinary Officer

It is with great pleasure that we announce that Dr. Cheryl Yuill has accepted the position of Chief Veterinary Officer for the Ontario SPCA.

Cheryl obtained both her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and a Master of Science in veterinary cardiology from the Ontario Veterinary College and has been a licensed practitioner in the Province of Ontario since graduation.

In 1990, Cheryl purchased Blue Cross Animal Hospital in Kitchener, Ontario.

In 1991, Cheryl developed the veterinary health care program for the animals at our Affiliate, the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society.  Under her direction, the veterinary program has since evolved into a comprehensive program that not only addresses the health and well-being of the animals in
the care of the Society, but also provides training and educational opportunities for the staff in matters that relate specifically to shelter medicine and animal care.

Cheryl is a past president of the College of Veterinarians of Ontario and has been actively involved in numerous committees of the CVO and is currently a co-chair of Health Canada's "Expert Advisory Committee on Veterinary Natural Health Products".

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Yuill to the Ontario SPCA.
