ANNOUNCEMENT - Ontario SPCA Perth County Branch Merges with the Kitchener/Waterloo Humane Society

The Ontario SPCA is pleased to be working with the Kitchener/Waterloo Humane Society, an affiliate of the Ontario SPCA, as they take on a new initiative to better serve the animals in the Stratford region. The Ontario SPCA Perth Branch will merge with the Kitchener/Waterloo Humane Society and continue to serve the communities of Perth County as part of the larger affiliated society.

The two facilities have been working closely together for a number of years to help the animals in their region. This merger will allow the services to continue while better assisting the animal welfare requirements and community needs of the Stratford region.

The Kitchener/Waterloo Humane Society have indicated that all staff will be transitioned over under the affiliate's governance.

All shelter operations and rescue and relief services will transition over to be operated by the Humane Society over the next year.

The Ontario SPCA will continue to work with the affiliated society to assist the organization with their animal welfare needs, where we are able.

This is the first merger of it's kind. The Ontario SPCA is pleased with this evolution as we strive to provide for animal welfare across the province.
