The Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre Partners With Newmarket Food Bank for Holiday Paws in the Pantry

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - NEWMARKET, ON (November 23, 2012) – The Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre (PEAC) will be collecting donations of food and pet supplies as part of the Holiday Paws in the Pantry initiative.

PEAC is appealing to its supporters for donations of both people and pet food to be distributed to those in need who utilize the Newmarket Food Pantry’s services.  Once collected, staff and volunteers will be putting together pet stockings and donating their surplus animal supplies which will be dropped off at the Food Bank on December 3rd, 2012.

Although the Newmarket Food Pantry tries to have pet food on hand at all times, there is a great demand over the holidays.

“With many of the Food Pantry’s patrons having pets, we want to ensure that everyone is taken care of and that no pet or person goes without this holiday season,” says Jennifer Toof, Acting Manager for the Ontario SPCA Provincial Education & Animal Centre.

Donations of food for both people and animals will be accepted until December 2nd, 2012 and can be dropped off that Provincial Education & Animal Center located at 16586 Woodbine Avenue in Newmarket.
