An Oxford County youth has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada after brutally killing a six-week old kitten

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Oxford County, ON (November 30, 2012) – A young offender from Oxford County has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada after brutally killing a six-week old kitten.


The Ontario SPCA received this report of animal cruelty on October 30, 2012, and acted immediately. The Society and the Ontario Provincial Police are currently working together on this investigation as the person recently charged is a young offender. The case is now before the courts; to respect the integrity of the investigation the Ontario SPCA cannot speak to further details of the case at this time.


“The Ontario SPCA takes acts of animal cruelty very seriously,” says Senior Inspector Grandel. “We encourage anyone witnessing someone harming an animal to call their local Ontario SPCA or local police.”
