UPDATE: Charges Laid Against Individual Responsible for Throwing Three Puppies Over Fence at Branch in Cornwall


FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - CORNWALL, ON (October 28, 2014) – The Ontario SPCA has laid charges against a Cornwall man who threw two nine week old border collie-type puppies and one terrier mix puppy over a seven foot fence at the Ontario SPCA Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Branch.


This act resulted in the puppies landing forcefully on the gravel on their necks, backs and other parts of their body. One of the puppies had difficulties getting up and was walking with a limp afterward.


The charges are as follows:
• One count of causing distress to an animal
• One count of permitting distress to an animal
• Failure to provide adequate and appropriate protection from the elements
• Failure to provide the care necessary for an animal’s general welfare


“The Ontario SPCA would like to thank the public for coming forth with information that has led to finding the person responsible for leaving the puppies,” says Steve Toy, Senior Inspector.
