The Timmins and District Humane Society is seeking the public’s assistance in locating the owner(s) of an older, female, Terrier-type dog.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Timmins, ON (April 9, 2015) - On April 4, 2015, the Timmins and District Humane Society was paged to pick up a stray dog, which had been found at Canadian Tire in Timmins, Ontario. Upon being admitted to the Society’s care and being examined, it was determined the dog was suffering from significant dental neglect. The little dog was found to have severely abscessed teeth that was resulting in further suffering from a serious infection, which required her to receive immediate veterinary care.

On April 9, 2015, after receiving ongoing veterinary care and being deemed stable enough to undergo surgery, she underwent extensive dental surgery to repair the damage caused from the infection, as well as to remove several teeth due to the severe tooth decay. She will require further medical care and her recovery remains closely monitored.

Although her picture was posted both on the Humane Society’s website and through various social media, the owners of this dog have yet to come forward to claim her. The Timmins and District Humane Society are asking anyone with any information on who the owner(s) of this dog is, to please contact the shelter at 705-264-1816, or call 310-SPCA.
