Thank you for participating in the 2018 No Hot Pets campaign

by | Campaigns |

It’s hard to believe another summer has come and gone! We want to thank all of you for participating in our No Hot Pets campaign this year. Together, you’re helping to spread awareness about the dangers of leaving pets unattended in vehicles in the summer heat.

In 2018:

  • 4,794 people took the pledge to show their commitment to not leaving their pet(s) in their vehicles.

  • 281 calls of dogs left in cars were made to our 310-SPCA (7722) dispatch number.

  • 199 businesses joined our pet-friendly business directory.

If you can’t take your pet with you when you leave your car, leave them at home where they are safe. Owners who choose to leave pets unattended in vehicles, may face charges under the Ontario SPCA Act or the Criminal Code of Canada.

It’s imperative that each of us as animal owners is responsible in providing the proper care for our pets. As such, leaving a pet unattended in a vehicle is one of the most irresponsible things a pet owner can do.

Thank you for taking the initiative to spread the word about this important message!
