Update on dog injured in Bowmanville

The Ontario SPCA and Durham Region Police are currently conducting a joint animal cruelty investigation relating to a Golden Retriever-type dog after police received a report on Monday, July 2, 2018 of a dog suffering from injuries on a highway off-ramp in Bowmanville.

The dog is safe. He is being cared for by a veterinarian and is being treated for his injuries. The Ontario SPCA is monitoring the dog’s progress and will continue to do so.

We would like to thank the public for their interest in the welfare of this dog. We will continue to provide updates when we have additional information to share.
