The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society kicks off its iAdopt for the Holidays adoption campaign, presented by Swiffer®
Stouffville, ON (November 15, 2021) – Give an animal in need the gift of a loving forever home this holiday season with the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society’s iAdopt for the Holidays campaign, which officially launches today.
Presented by Swiffer®, iAdopt for the Holidays is a holiday adoption initiative that runs until Dec. 31 at Ontario SPCA animal centres across the province to find loving forever homes for as many animals as possible. Last year, 500 animals in Ontario found their forever homes during the iAdopt for the Holidays campaign.
With many people enjoying time off during the holidays and being home together as a family, now is the perfect time to welcome an animal into your life. Together as a family, you can spend time with your new furry friend and help them settle into their new home.
Already have an adopted animal? Visit iadopt.ca to enter Ontario’s Cutest Adopted Animal Photo Contest for your chance to win weekly prizes from Swiffer®, as well as the grand prize of a $500 PetSmart gift card to spoil your furry friend.
If you’re not able to adopt right now, you can still help an animal in need. Visit iadopt.ca to give back to animals in need while finding the purr-fect gift for that special someone on your holiday list by shopping the Ontario SPCA’s Paws & Give™ online giving store.
Animals adopted through the Ontario SPCA are spayed or neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. In addition, every adopter will go home with Swiffer®’s Get Pet Ready Guide, with tips and tricks on how to care for your new furry friend while maintaining a clean home. Adopters will also receive a Swiffer® Duster™ Pet Heavy Duty Starter Kit to help them get their homes and hearts ready as they bring home a new furry friend this holiday season.
“When you give an animal a home, you’re not only changing that animal’s life, you’re also bringing joy and love into your life,” says Tracy McElman, Provincial Manager, Community Programming & Animal Centre Services, Ontario SPCA and Humane Society. “iAdopt for the Holidays is all about making lifetime matches.”

The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society is a registered charity, established in 1873. The Society and its network of communities facilitate and provide for province-wide leadership on matters relating to the prevention of cruelty to animals and the promotion of animal well-being. Offering a variety of mission-based programs, including community-based sheltering, animal wellness services, provincial animal transfers, shelter health & wellness, high-volume spay/neuter services, animal rescue, animal advocacy, Indigenous partnership programs and humane education, the Ontario SPCA is Ontario’s animal charity.
The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society Provincial Office sits on the traditional territory of the Wendat, the Anishinabek Nation, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the Mississaugas of Scugog, Hiawatha and Alderville First Nations and the Métis Nation. This territory was the subject of the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement between the Iroquois Confederacy and the Ojibwe and allied nations to peaceably share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes. The treaties that were signed for this particular parcel of land are collectively referred to as the Williams Treaties of 1923.
