h, hi! I'm Boris

When three year old Boris first arrived in our care, it was apparent he was not happy with any human interaction. After assessment and discussion, he was placed in our working cat program. Months passed by and Boris received little to no interest – but in those months we noticed a change.
Through patience, enrichment, positive reinforcement, gentle training, and allowing Boris to move at his own pace, we’ve watched him slowly begin to trust. Day by day he’s blossoming into a wonderful companion. While he’s still a cautious boy, his curiosity is growing, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to see his personality emerge.
Boris is looking for a calm, quiet, and patient adult only home with no children, where his family understands that trust takes time. He is easily startled and will need adopters who are happy to let him settle in at his own pace. As his previous life most likely included living outdoors, his ideal home should be able to accommodate his needs while ensuring his safety.
Boris is FIV positive, so it is recommended he be the only cat in the home. He may do well with another FIV positive cat, however.
There is a chance Boris may never be the cat who greets every stranger or demands attention, but for the person willing to give him the time he deserves, he’ll be a truly special companion. His journey is proof that sometimes all an animal needs is someone willing to believe in them.
