Get ready to Sweat for Pets with the Ontario SPCA’s fitness challenge to help animals in need
Stouffville, ON (May 23, 2023) – Get moving this summer to help animals in need with the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society’s Sweat for Pets fundraiser, which challenges you to set a personal fitness goal and raise funds to change the lives of animals in your community.
Challenges can be completed anytime and can be as unique as you are. In celebration of the Ontario SPCA’s 150th anniversary, participants are encouraged to set a personal goal that incorporates 150. You could ride 150 kilometres on your bike over two weeks, run 150 kilometres in a month, create a team and do a combined 150 workouts – whatever inspires you!
Making a difference is as easy as setting a personal fitness challenge, registering at sweatforpets.ca and then asking your friends, family and neighbours to pledge their support by donating to your fundraising page.
“Sweat for Pets is all about getting active and raising funds to help animals that need our support,” says Stephanie Miller, Vice President, Development, Ontario SPCA and Humane Society. “You’ll be doing something good for your health, for the animals, and for your community.”
The Ontario SPCA is a registered charity that does not receive annual government funding and depends on generous supporters to change the lives of vulnerable animals. Funds raised through Sweat for Pets provide care and shelter to give animals a second chance.

The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society Provincial Office sits on the traditional territory of the Wendat, the Anishinabek Nation, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, the Mississaugas of Scugog, Hiawatha and Alderville First Nations and the Métis Nation. This territory was the subject of the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement between the Iroquois Confederacy and the Ojibwe and allied nations to peaceably share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes. The treaties that were signed for this particular parcel of land are collectively referred to as the Williams Treaties of 1923.
