Sonya Reichel

Sonya Reichel is an executive leader in animal welfare and non-profit operations with more than 16 years of experience building strong teams and mission-driven organizations. A University of Guelph Animal Sciences graduate, she began her leadership journey in British Columbia before joining the Georgian Triangle Humane Society in 2012, later earning the Ontario SPCA Chairman’s Award for Excellence in Animal Welfare in 2018. She currently serves as Vice President of Operations at the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society.

Sonya leads with optimism, action, and a deep belief in people. She is passionate about creating healthy, high-performing teams, strengthening operations, and fostering environments where innovation and collaboration can thrive. She believes that when leaders listen well, give teams a voice, and create trust, meaningful and lasting impact follows.
