Our Purpose

The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society is a registered charity that has been operating for over 150 years. The Society provides care, comfort and compassion to animals in need in communities across Ontario. We value all animals and advocate to treat them with respect and kindness. The Society strives to keep pets and families together and does so through a variety of community support services.

Where is the Midland and District Animal Centre located?

The animal centre is located at 15979 Highway 12 East in Port McNicoll, just outside Midland.

Is it accessible by public transportation?

Unfortunately, the Midland and District Animal Centre is not located on a transit route.

Is there parking?

Yes, there is free parking available on site.

What are your hours?

The Midland and District Animal Centre is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Please note that we are closed to the public on statutory holidays.

How can I report animal cruelty? 

The Ontario SPCA does not have the legal authority to investigate concerns for the welfare of an animal. If you see an animal in distress, please contact the Government of Ontario’s Provincial Animal Welfare Services team at 1-833-9ANIMAL (1-833-926-4625) or your local police services. If the animal’s life is in danger, call 911 immediately as this is an emergency.

What items do you accept as donations? 

As a registered charity that is 100% donor-funded, we rely on the generosity of our supporters. We gratefully accept monetary donations, which can be made in person at our animal centre or online. If you’d like to donate supplies, please contact us to learn about our most needed items or check out our Amazon wish list for an easy way to give. We also post urgent needs on Facebook and Instagram — and as a bonus, you’ll get your daily dose of adorable animal content!
