National Cupcake Day™ by the Numbers
by Ontario SPCA and Humane Society | Campaigns | January 24, 2019
On Feb. 25th, why not make everyone’s day a little sweeter and bake cupcakes to benefit puppies, kittens and ponies in need?
Every February, participating SPCAs and Humane Societies across the country celebrate National Cupcake Day to raise critically-needed funds for animals that are abused, abandoned, neglected or no longer wanted.
Anyone can participate in National Cupcake Day. All you have to do is register (it’s free!) and plan a Cupcake Day party. Cupcake Day parties can be held anywhere, and on any date in January or February.
Simply plan to supply some delicious treats, and then invite co-workers, friends and family to attend in exchange for a donation to your local SPCA or Humane Society. Guests are encouraged to donate to the participating SPCA or Humane Society of the host’s choice in exchange for a cupcake. A
Cupcakes by the numbers:
- To date, 136,956 cupcakes have been baked to fight animal cruelty. Now that’s a tasty figure!
- Proceeds from National Cupcake Day help the Ontario SPCA and participating societies care for animals in need across Canada. To date, the campaign has raised a total of $3.15 million.
- It costs an average of $568 to care for a shelter animal and to date 5,545 animals have been helped by caring Cupcake Day party hosts like you!
Join us for the sweetest day of the year on Feb.25 and “bake a difference,” visit nationalcupcakeday.ca to register to host a Cupcake Day Party on a date that’s convenient for you. Plan your National Cupcake Day Party for home, work, school or anywhere you think people would enjoy eating cupcakes (or any other delicious treat you’d like.)
