IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Midland, ON (June 10, 2024) – To help manage pet populations and reach underserved communities, the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society is bringing its MASH-style spay/neuter and wellness clinic to Midland from June 11-13.
The three-day clinic for cats, which is being held at the Ontario SPCA Midland & District Animal Centre, also offers general wellness services, including examinations, vaccinations, and microchips. A total of 142 spay/neuter appointments have been booked.
These new portable outreach events are designed to be easily packed up and transported to wherever they are needed. The County of Simcoe generously provided a grant to help bring the service to the community.
“The Ontario SPCA is excited to be able to offer this pop-up event to serve pet parents in the region who might not otherwise have been able to access this care,” says Cheryl Laliberte, Central Regional Manager of Community Outreach Services, Ontario SPCA and Humane Society. “We want to ensure that people have access to basic animal wellness services to keep their beloved pets happy and healthy.”
As a registered charity that does not receive annual government funding, the Ontario SPCA depends on the generosity of donors to make these community support services possible. To learn more, or to donate, visit ontariospca.ca/mobileservices
