Patient Paws: Helping animals find their loving homes

by | Interesting |

Every animal deserves a loving home. At the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society, we strive to find a home for each animal that comes into our care, no matter how long it takes. Unfortunately, some animals are overlooked by adopters and it takes them a little longer before they walk out our doors with their new family.

We refer to animals who have been in our care for over 30 days as long-term residents. To help these furry friends find their home, we have added a frame with the “long-term resident” designation around the photos of these animals on our adoption page.   If you have been thinking about adopting, consider a long-term resident!

In this blog, we decided to highlight some of our long-term residents, and why we think they’re paw-sitively awesome.

Meet the residents!

Agatha:Agatha

Agatha is a confident girl ready to run your household and make sure mealtimes are always on time. She is your new supervisorwhen you work from home or as you complete your list of chores on the weekends.  She likes to sit next to you in her favourite chair to make sure all is going to plan. Agatha’s foster parent reports that she loves mittens, and her favourite toy is her wand – she will even bring it with her around the house. This kitty enjoys relaxing with her foster siblings  –  a rabbit and small dog. Agatha is 10 years young and living her happiest, best life.
