Pet Food Distribution Program

No one should have to choose between feeding themselves and feeding their pets. The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society works with food banks and community partners to distribute pet food where it’s needed most.

Need Pet Food Assistance?

If you need help accessing pet food, we’re here for you! Depending on your location, our team will direct you to the closest access point – whether that’s your local Ontario SPCA and Humane Society animal centre or one of our partner food banks.

Connect with your local animal centre and ask for the Community Outreach Coordinator for assistance.

Our Impact

In 2025, our pet food distribution program helped keep families and their beloved pets together during times of financial hardship. By providing access to nutritious food across our communities, we reduced barriers to pet ownership and helped prevent unnecessary surrenders to shelters. This vital support ensured animals stayed healthy, cared for, and right where they belong—at home with the people who love them.

  • How You Can Help

Fully supported by donations, our pet food distribution program provides pet food and essential supplies to families in need. If you’d like to help, we welcome donations of unopened pet food, pet supplies, or monetary contributions. Donations can be dropped off at your local Ontario SPCA and Humane Society animal centre during our operating hours or you can connect with us to arrange a pick-up for larger donations. Together, we can make a meaningful impact for pets and the people who love them.
