Year of the Northern Dog – A Year in Review
by Ontario SPCA and Humane Society | Northern projects | December 20, 2018
This year marked the launch of Year of the Northern Dog, a collaborative program aimed at bringing awareness, attention and action to the serious animal wellness issue of Northern dog overpopulation.
Thanks to your support and the support of our many incredible partners:
- Over 400 animals were relocated from the North
- Animal wellness services and transfers were delivered in 30 Northern communities
Watch this video to learn more about the program’s milestones and the incredible people who were instrumental to its success.
What’s next?
Our work won’t stop when the year ends – our activities supporting the North will continue in 2019, under a new name “Support the North”. Change the life of a Northern animal by making a donation or purchasing an item from our Amazon wish list today. For continued updates, like our Facebook page.
Thank you and Happy Holidays!
