Dog ramp helps trapped raccoons get to safety
by Ontario SPCA and Humane Society | Interesting | July 15, 2019
A few weeks ago, animal control officers for the Town of Orangeville were called about a mother and three young raccoons stuck in a dumpster.
The officers sprung into action and placed a dog ramp they had in their truck into the dumpster. They cleared the area and waited a few minutes for the raccoons to climb out.
As soon as the raccoons escaped, they went straight for water in a nearby puddle. Happy to be free once again!
If you find wildlife in distress, call your local animal control services, or the government of Ontario’s 24/7 hotline, 1-833-9ANIMAL.
Here’s a little video of the raccoons coming out of the dumpster.
