Everlasting love – William Wilding’s Legacy

by | Interesting |

William Wilding was a dedicated animal lover who donated generously to the Ontario SPCA and Humane society through legacy giving. Bill had a bond with nature and animals most of his life. Growing up, Bill enjoyed summers on a farm where he would watch and marvel at wildlife. He was fascinated by animals in their natural habitat and intrigued by the behaviour of the various skunks, racoons, porcupines, coyotes, deer, groundhogs, turtles and species of birds who frequented the property.

Bill was also fond of his family’s pets, including horses, dogs and cats, but it was his own pet rabbit, ‘Chuckie’ who was dearest to his heart.

A wish fulfilled

Following a 35-year career with Canada Post, Bill spent more time at the farm enjoying the

animal world. He wished to be able to help animals, even after he was gone.

Bill Wilding passed away in March 2021 at the age of 75. Honouring his love for animals, Bill gifted a legacy donation to four charities, including the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society, Toronto Zoo, Toronto Wildlife Centre and World Wildlife Fund Canada.

Thanks to his compassion and generosity, animals from across Ontario and beyond will continue to receive life-changing care and shelter for many years to come.

I stand behind SPCA with my monthly gift

I stand behind SPCA with my monthly gift. I am so happy there are folks like you to care for those who can’t help themselves.  My family and I have had animals all our lives and know what a comfort they are.  Thank you SPCA.
