If you’re craving apple pie and all things pumpkin spice, then you’ll love these pet-friendly fall recipes to treat your furry friend. Take advantage of rainy days and bake up a storm; your pet will love them!

Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Dog Treats

2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
2 eggs
1/2 cup canned pumpkin
2 tablespoons peanut butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350ºF (175ºC) and mix all ingredients in a bowl. Water can be added but the dough should be dry and stiff.  Using your hands, roll the dough into a 1/2″ thick log. Chop into 0.5″ pieces and lay them flat to bake for 40 minutes. Get the full recipe here.

Pumpkin and Tuna Cat Treats

3/4 cup flour (plus a pinch for dusting the cutting board)
2 tablespoons of canned pumpkin puree
1 can of drained tuna
1 teaspoon dried catnip

Preheat oven to 350⁰F (175⁰C) and mix all ingredients in a bowl. Use the extra flour for the cutting board and using your hands, roll the dough into a 1″ thick log. Chop into bite size pieces and bake for 20 minutes. Get the full recipe here. 

Paw Print Dog Treats

2 cups all-purpose flour (plus a pinch for dusting the cutting board)
1/2 cup wheat germ
1/2 cup brewer’s yeast
2 teaspoons salt
3 tablespoons canola oil
1 1/2 cups low-sodium chicken stock

Preheat the oven to 400ºF (205ºC) and mix dry ingredients in a bowl. Pour canola oil into a separate bowl. Mix dry bowl mixture and 1 cup stock into canola bowl, alternating dry mix and stock into the canola oil until it is all combined (1/2 cup chicken stock should be left over). Knead into sticky dough and and flatten. Use a 1/4″ round circle cookie cutter to cut individual cookies, and create the paws by using your thumb in the centre and pinky finger for four toes. Freeze for 15 minutes, then bake for 20 minutes. (Brush with remaining chicken stock halfway through baking time.) Turn oven off and let stand in warm oven for 40 minutes. Get the full recipe here. 

Easy Pumpkin Spice Cat Treats

1/3 cup pumpkin puree
1/3 cup turkey/chicken cat food
1/2 cup oat flour
1 tablespoon of catnip

Preheat oven to 350⁰F (175⁰C) and mix all ingredients in a bowl. Spread a thin layer of the dough onto the baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes.  Remove from oven and cut into small bite-sized squares.  Bake for 5 more minutes. Get the full recipe here.
