Northern transports
At the end of September the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society and partners, transported five dogs from two Northern communities, as well as 32 cats, including 6 kittens, from our friends at Second Chance Pet Network in Dryden. On the same weekend, the Georgian Triangle Humane Society transported 17 dogs from Northern Ontario.
The first weekend of October saw another round of transports. The Niagara SPCA and Humane Society transported 33 dogs and 66 cats from Northern communities October 6-8. On the same weekend, the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society was on the road after picking up 2 cats and 7 Northern dogs in need of homes, thanks to the help of Hearst Pet Finders. After resting overnight at the Timmins and District Humane Society, the animals headed south to find their new homes.
Thank you to all the SPCA’s and Humane Societies who have been involved in making these transports possible!
