How to become a volunteer
Your efforts and passion will create a greater awareness of animal welfare issues and opportunities, and enable the organization to provide more care and find more homes for animals in the communities we serve.
*The Ontario SPCA requires all volunteers must be 14 years or older to participate in our volunteer program.
Foster Care Volunteer Position
You can change the life of an animal by becoming a foster care volunteer. This volunteer position provides animals with special individualized care outside of the shelter environment. You will be supporting an animal that needs us the most, by providing a comfortable and isolated place for pregnant animals, or offering a safe and quiet home for animals recovering from injury or illness.
Please note: volunteers are required to be a minimum of 18 years of age and have access to transportation.
Support the North Team
The Animal Transport Team is an action-oriented network of individuals will work to assist whenever one of our Ontario SPCA Animal Centres or an Affiliate Centre, municipality or community are nearing or have reached animal population crisis of capacity of care.
You will be part of a team that executes the coordinated, transport of animals in need to Ontario SPCA or Affiliate Animal Centres or Partner Groups where suitable accommodation awaits and where ultimate adoptions into forever homes can be facilitated.
