World Rabies Day 2020
World Rabies Day is September 28th, 2020 and the focus is on vaccination and collaboration. Rabies is a viral disease that causes swelling in the brain of warm-blooded mammals. It can be transmitted by a bite and can cross from a dog to a human. A good idea to keep your pets safe is to vaccinate them!

To reduce the risks of contracting rabies, here are some tips:
- Vaccinate your pets against rabies.
- Do not handle wild or stray animals to avoid being bitten.
- Contact your municipal animal control services if you see an animal in your neighbourhood acting strangely.
- Always seek medical attention if you’ve been bitten by a strange animal.ies
- Carefully supervise your pet while in the woods, cottage or any place wild animals may be.
If a strange or wild animal bites your pet, contact your veterinarian immediately to determine if your pet needs medical intervention. The best way to avoid rabies is to vaccinate your pet!
