Jiggie, a gentle and affectionate walker mix, came into the care of the Ontario SPCA – Renfrew County Branch in April 2012. She didn’t come from the best of circumstances. Having been part of a large rescue operation with a number of other hound mix dogs, the Investigators found her to be very shy and timid. Not only was Jiggie reserved and afraid, she was also pregnant.
With a little time and love, Jiggie began to open up to shelter staff and she began letting her wonderful personality shine through. While placed with her foster family, Jiggie gave birth to 8 healthy and adorable puppies. Once they were of age, the puppies and Jiggie were all adopted into loving homes where they are thriving.
Jiggie’s story was such an inspiration the Renfrew staff that chose her to be their official animal spokes animal for the Kibble n’ Bids dinner and auction happening on Saturday, November 17th, 2012, where Jiggie and her family will be the among the evening’s special guests.
