National Cupcake Day™ is almost here and it’s the sweetest way to help animals in Toronto

Toronto, ON (Feb. 17, 2021) –National Cupcake Day™ is next week and the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society and Toronto Humane Society have teamed up to help animals in need in the GTA by asking you to eat a cupcake. The calories don’t count when you’re helping animals, right?

National Cupcake Day is a nation-wide fundraiser in support of participating SPCAs, humane societies and rescue groups across Canada. This year, to keep communities safe during COVID-19, the Ontario SPCA and Toronto Humane Society are encouraging you to enjoy cupcakes at home and make an online donation to support your local participating animal organization.

“Who couldn’t use a delicious mid-winter pick-me-up treat?” says Daryl Vaillancourt, Chief, Humane Programs & Community Outreach, Ontario SPCA and Humane Society“Enjoy a cupcake on National Cupcake Day and make a donation to provide urgently needed care and shelter for homeless animals.”

The Ontario SPCA, Toronto Humane Society and other participating SPCAs, humane societies and rescue groups are charitable organizations that rely on the generosity of donors to change the lives of vulnerable animals. By making a donation on National Cupcake Day, you are providing urgently needed care and shelter for homeless animals.

“Toronto Humane Society offers so many services and programs that assist the community of Toronto & greater! As a non-profit organization, we rely solely on donation dollars and fundraising efforts, just like this years National Cupcake Day, which helps to raise funds for animals in need!” says Hannah Sotropa, Toronto Humane Society’s Public Relations Specialist.
