IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Napanee, ON (March 15, 2022) – The Ontario SPCA Lennox & Addington Animal Centre is searching for a loving home for a cat with special needs, and it’s asking members of the community to help spread the word.

Ingrid came into the care of the Lennox & Addington Animal Centre in early December and has mobility issues. Thought to be about a year or two old, Ingrid walks with uncoordinated movements and is unable to fully straightening her front legs. Her physical challenges have not impacted her enthusiasm for life, or her ability to get around the house.

Ingrid is an affectionate cat who likes to curl up at your feet for belly rubs. She will follow you around when she wants attention, purrs almost immediately when she sees you, and greets you with a little meow when you enter the room. She gets along with other cats, and also dogs who respect her space. She needs a quiet home with a patient adopter where she can feel secure and thrive. She requires medication for her condition and will need regular veterinary checkups to keep her healthy.

Ingrid is one of hundreds of animals that come into the care of the Lennox & Addington Animal Centre each year. For more than 30 years, the centre has been there to help animals in the community, adopting an average of 500 dogs, cats, birds and small animals each year.

“After seeing the community come together to help animals when our centre froze up during extreme cold weather earlier this year, I am hopeful that our community will be able to help Ingrid get the second chance she deserves,” says Esther McCutcheon, Manager, Ontario SPCA Lennox & Addington Animal Centre. “We are so thankful for the support our community has shown us. Thanks to everyone who stepped up to donate or offer their services, we were able to make the emergency renovations needed so that we can continue to help animals like Ingrid.”

I stand behind SPCA with my monthly gift

I stand behind SPCA with my monthly gift. I am so happy there are folks like you to care for those who can’t help themselves.  My family and I have had animals all our lives and know what a comfort they are.  Thank you SPCA.
