The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society kicks off iAdopt for the Holidays adoption campaign

Stouffville, ON (November 12, 2020) – Give an animal in need the gift of a loving forever home this holiday season with the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society’s iAdopt for the Holidays campaign, which officially launches today.

Sponsored by Petplan, iAdopt for the Holidays is a holiday re-homing mission that runs until Dec. 31 at participating SPCAs, humane societies and rescue groups across Canada to find loving forever homes for as many animals as possible. Last year, close to 3,330 animals from across Canada found their forever homes during the iAdopt for the Holidays campaign.

With many people enjoying time off during the holidays and being home together as a family, now is the perfect time to welcome an animal into your life. Together as a family, you can spend time with your new furry friend and help them settle into their new home.

“Every animal deserves to have a special person or family to love and care for them,” says Daryl Vaillancourt, Chief, Humane Programs & Community Outreach, Ontario SPCA and Humane Society. “iAdopt for the Holidays is all about making lifetime matches.”

Animals adopted through the Ontario SPCA are spayed or neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccinations. Plus, there are great prizes to be won during iAdopt for the Holidays. Anyone who adopts from a participating SPCA or Humane Society will be automatically entered for a chance to win the iAdopt grand prize. Already have an adopted pet? Visit to enter Canada’s Cutest Adopted Pet Contest for your chance to win weekly prizes.

If you’re not in a position to adopt right now, or if you already have a fur baby at home, you can still help an animal in need by making an online gift. Visit to see symbolic gifts that provide animals with critical care and a comfortable stay while they await adoption. Paws & Give™ symbolic gifts make the perfect gift for the animal lover on your holiday list.
