Corruption, cruelty and cock fighting: Retired FBI agent talks Operation Rose Thorn
by Emily Cook | Podcast | December 12, 2017

Retired FBI agent Tom Farrow spent years working on the “Operation Rose Thorn,” uncovering corruption, illegal activity, and animal cruelty – all from the pit of a cock fighting ring.
An investigation that began in 2001, Farrow says Operation Rose Thorn resulted in eight law enforcement officers, and about 53 civilians being convicted federally, and 167 civilians being convicted in state court. Crimes included everything from theft and prostitution, to animal cruelty.
In this podcast, Farrow talks to us about the investigation, cock fighting, and the ramifications of witnessing animal abuse like that from a young age.
