National Shelter Appreciation Week

by | Interesting |

Animal shelters throughout Ontario play an important role in the communities they serve. During National Shelter Appreciation Week from November 4 – 10, 2012, we would like to acknowledge our hard working staff, and encourage the public to show their support for their local shelter.

Staff at the Ontario SPCA Muskoka Animal Centre

The Ontario SPCA’s branches and affiliates provide a variety of services including: matching homeless animals with new homes; rescuing abused, neglected, injured and abandoned animals; offering education about responsible pet guardianship and other topics; and helping reunite lost pets with their human families.

Community support is vital to the success of our organization and we encourage the public to come in and visit our shelters to learn more about the important services we provide.  Your support means a great deal to staff and volunteers, whether it be a simple “thank you”, making a donation, reporting animal cruelty, or choosing to adopt your next pet from a shelter.

When it comes to supporting your local animal welfare organizations, every bit helps. For all the hard work they do all year round, this is a great time to rally your community and find out how you can be a supporter!

Bark, chirp or purr about your favourite pet on Facebook and  Twitter!

I stand behind SPCA with my monthly gift

I stand behind SPCA with my monthly gift. I am so happy there are folks like you to care for those who can’t help themselves.  My family and I have had animals all our lives and know what a comfort they are.  Thank you SPCA.
