Ontario SPCA Catches Runaway Cow

by | News |

On September 18th, 2013, a truck carrying over 70 cows rolled over just north of Bracebridge on Highway 11. Sadly, the driver and around 60 of the cows were killed.

The surviving cows were brought to a local farm for temporary housing. One of the cows, however, managed to escape and was roaming around near highway 11 in the bush. We received many calls of concerned citizens who kept seeing the cow along the highway.

The Ontario SPCA tried to capture the cow, but somehow she kept getting away.

On Monday, October 21st, after about five weeks roaming the bush, our Officers and team members were finally able to capture the cow.

We’re happy to report she in now reunited with her herd, safe and warm on a farm.
